Organizing Documents Overview

Depending on your access level in DynaFile, you might have the ability to edit a document after it’s been saved to your site.

Editing a document (or documents) makes changes to the pages of the document itself (rotating, deleting, or separating pages), while metadata updates refer to the information about what that document is and who that document is for (Employee Status, Document Type, or Employee Name).

Editing a document can be done in any allowed state.

Updating the Metadata can only be done to documents already registered.

Changing a document’s state is another form of “updating”, the most common Change State action for a registered document is moving a document(s) to the Deleted State but the ability to move a document between states is customizable and based on the user’s permission.

Document Indexing

DynaFile organizes documents by Indexing them uniquely into the system. The Index Values are used to file documents immediately after scanning. You will then be able to search for and retrieve them.

Registering Documents

You will be prompted to Register a document any time you import a document to DynaFile.
